What is the Fairfax Volleyball Club?

The Fairfax Volleyball Club was founded in 1979 to serve the Northern Virginia volleyball community by coordinating year-round indoor adult recreational league play.  In addition to coordinating indoor leagues, which play at the Virginia Volleyball Center, the Dulles Sportsplex and Fairfax County schools, the club also coordinates outdoor grass tournaments each summer.  To learn more about the FVC as well as its leagues and tournaments, please visit the FVC website.

FVC's General Membership Meeting Open to the Public; Council Elections to be Held

The Fairfax Volleyball Club's General Membership Meeting, which is open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 starting at 6 p.m. at the Fairfax Government Center (the Pennino building) located at 12011 Government Center Parkway, Room 206A, Fairfax, VA 22035.

On the agenda: elections for volunteer positions on FVC's General Council.  (Individuals will be elected to the Council and then the entire Council -- including the new members -- will vote on specific positions to be held.)

The Council meets approximately four times per year to discuss, prepare, run leagues and to promote volleyball in the Northern Virginia and surrounding region.  Individuals with experience in running clinics and marketing are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Pursuant to the FVC Bylaws, interested individuals must submit a nomination letter and resume by Tuesday, February 1 via email to Greg McDonald, FVC's Vice President.  Individuals must be present at the meeting on March 1 to be elected.

Questions about the Council or the elections process may be directed to Greg McDonald via email or Tia Storey, our league administrator, via email or phone (703-966-8037).

Youth Coaches Needed

There's nothing better than giving back to the sport you love by teaching others how to play and enjoy it.

Clinic, middle school, high school, and recreational league coaches are needed for youth volleyball.  Some positions are paid, some are volunteer.
